Heritage protected house with a holiday apartment and a studio, on a quiet side street on the outskirts

This house is on a quiet side street, very close to the forest. It was renovated from 2000 to 2004, preserving much of the original structure, whilst ensuring the necessary standard of comfort. The house is in Schernfeld on the Jurahöhe, about 6km from the baroque town of Eichstätt.

There is a little front garden outside, which is fenced, with a little terrace with seating, a parasol and a grill. This front garden provides access to the house. It is possible to park briefly in front of the house, otherwise there is public, free parking about 50 metres away.

The two holiday apartments can also be booked in combination. It is possible to connect them via a connecting door. Free wireless Internet access is available.

Owing to its location in the middle of the Altmühl Valley, the locality is a good starting point for exploring the nature reserve. You can find an educational forest trail, a quarry for fossil collectors nearby, several museums, Roman relics, the Teufelsmauer (Devil’s Wall), a reconstructed Roman castle etc. There are a bakery and a grocery shop just around the corner, about 50 metres away. You can also find a local doctor and two restaurants.

One-room apartment for four people

This exceptionally beautiful apartment with its own entrance is on the first floor. It has 40m² of living space and can accommodate four people. The apartment features an accomplished combination of old and new, with a particularly striking wooden beam structure. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with a ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine and kettle. The dining space in the living room in front of the open kitchen consists of an old table and four modern chairs, along with a comfortable old sofa that you can sit on to watch TV. The modern bathroom has a bath, WC, hairdryer and bathroom radiator, along with a washing machine. The gallery, accessed up wooden stairs, has a sleeping area with two big double beds (200 x 200cm). To get to the second bed you have to slide under the main beam (about 80cm of space).

The apartment also has a little terrace for relaxing. Please note that pets are not allowed if you rent the studio on its own.
